Question of the Week, Question of the Week!

I had great fun reading your responses to last week's question about Christmas movies.  Many have made it to my Netflix queue, my "May I borrow that?" list, and Brad and I watched Planes, Trains, and Automobiles on Friday night because Dave the Indy Car guy (my name for him, not what he calls himself) reminded me of it via facebook comments.

Bia suggested I ask about favorite Christmas books.  I wonder, will we get as many comments in response?

So, the question of this week has to be:

What's your favorite Christmas book?

I have a small collection of Christmas books, and these two are probably my favorite.  However, I would guess that once I unpack the books for this year I might see some I wish I had shared here.    I love Great Joy by Kate DiCamillo.  It's a sweet little story about community and caring.  I also read Santa Calls by William Joyce to my class every year.  It's a North Pole adventure story with a message for siblings that always makes me cry. The next time you're in a bookstore, wander over to the kids' department and read these:

I also love The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson, it's funny and touching, and the REAL Christmas story is incorporated.

A new and adult favorite is The Shepherd, the Angel, and Walter the Christmas Miracle Dog by Dave Barry. I read it last week (and wrote about it in yesterday's post).  It was sweetly hilarious at moments, and it made me cry at others.
