Horrible Haiku

Yep, the poet in me has struck again. This time with a theme...can you pick it out?  Truly we are far from being hoarders,  but if you want to see some amazing images that will make you want to clean your closets and basement, search Google images for "hoarders." Gulp! That show makes me want to give away everything I own, but for now, we're just making space and progress so we can exercise in the lower level...

'Bout five years ago
I killed my treadmill, it SMOKED
New one comes today!

Cleaning our basement
Wearing a path to Goodwill
We kept such stuff--why?

A great diet plan!
Buy a quality treadmill
No cash left for food.

A & E's Hoarders
A great catalyst to purge
Scary, scary stuff

Click on over to Laura's blog.  She usually has actually good horrible haiku!  And as a disclaimer, all pictures copied from various sources via Google images.

Horrible Haiku Friday

"Holiday" Kisses
With all the green ones removed
Valentine decor!

Many rules to learn
So I use a kiddie board
Chess is cerebral?

I say I knit but
What I really do is make
Lots of knots in yarn

I hope to tell by
the sound of coins hitting coins
how rich my pig is

The sweets in the bowl
won't last 'til Valentine's Day
'cept on my hips...sigh

Stumble over to Laura's blog for more Horrible poetry, feel free to make up one of your own...it's  weekly thing, when I feel up to the "challenge"!

Horrible Haiku Friday

Have started saying
"I will be 50 this year"
Just tell me to shush

This is horrible on many levels:
1. It's really bad poetry
2.  I'm staring down 50 (okay, not until October)
3.  Only I could make the new year all about me...
Thank you Laura for acting as my muse, not because you're 50 but because you're the real poet!

Horrible Haiku Friday

In honor of my friend Laura at Catholic Teacher Musings...
Each morning greeted
By a sunny yellow box
Love my Cheerios

Sure I buy face creams
And I would look much younger

Horrible Haiku Friday

Last week, my friend had just returned from a state reading conference when she read my post. In case you don't read all the comments friends leave here, I'll share the Haiku she saw on an attender's T-shirt while there:

Haikus are easy

But sometimes they don't make sense

Now for a little bit of my own horrible
(I've been sick again, so no pics with these, just no time):

The media flu

Closed our middle and high schools

El Ed is tougher stuff?

Kids who avoid books

Perplex me to frustration

They must feel a void

Fifth graders in spring

Think they're so cool but they're kids

I love my hubby

Without me asking for one

He makes me grilled cheese

Horrible Haiku Friday

I stole this idea from Laura, listed at left "Catholic Teacher Musings", whose blog I stumbled across last weekend. She calls hers "Bad Haiki,"but they're so funny, I laughed out loud. Then later in the week, as I woke, I found myself matching words to the 5,7,5 pattern myself. Scary part? I wrote them down! They aren't good enough to be bad, so how about horrible?

Read with caution...

Once, I tried on Crocs

I looked down to see clown feet

Why do you wear them?
