Yesterday, we all walked to the Elder Day Care Center.
We spent some time singing songs and some time planting flowers.
The flower planting was hilarious. Have you ever heard of the expression, "too many cooks..."? Well at one table, we had too many gardeners--they each knew how they wanted things done and none of them had the same idea.
Still, I look forward to driving by over the summer when I'm in town to tutor and seeing these little impatiens spilling over their planters' edges.
More so, I look forward to creating a lasting relationship with this great non-profit organization and visiting them with next year's fourth graders.

I had a nice, intersting visit today at your site and I enjoyed it. You lead a busy life, but one that always has time for the Lord and that is good.
Of course, I was particularly tickled by your post mentioning blessings as that is what my whole Blog is based on (yikes, I ended in a preposition...the trials of being a two year English major who just wanted to major in languages in general.)
blessings on you and yours,
marcy
I have to wonder who had more fun that day...???
Great that the kids get an opportunity to spend time with some elders. Some children don't have grandparents in their lives, and it's so wonderful to give both generations a chance to interact.
Cool!
Thanks for visiting the seniors, El. My mom loved spending time with children.
On one of my escapades with Paige last week, we ended up at a senior care center by mistake and of course we had to stay and chat a while with the ladies. That was good for all of us.
Well you have to know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this.
